奶罩党之旅Day 1
1:07 PM
是的。我们终于去台湾了!!!
Lianbra 一大早竟然拦得到徳士,然后以光速到我家。匆匆忙忙赶到楼下时,一个very enthu 的 driver 一直一直一直提醒我有木有带passport.
hanna. 谢谢提醒。
我穿着我的airport fashion =pyjamas(tshirt + yoga pants),准备在飞机上的狭小的空间自由摆出comfy 的睡姿。
eh we reach the airport quite early so bras went to hunt for their breakfast and we arrive at Wang Cafe. then i exclaimed 原来是这个噢!这个有够难吃的!!!!ok. i only tried their chicken 马克咯你。eh n i brought my half eaten breakfast..so the trio continue to buy their breakfast at Wang cafe since limited choice is available at such an early timing.
fast forward>> KC bought MM Chocos >> Wait for plane and Camwhore >> to plane boarding where we split into two groups. me n kc. ly n yy. Sad life...first time boarding plane that does not serve food n drinks. Evian mineral is sold at $4!!!! Mother father cheap. Cup noodles at $5. Our conclusion is that if u wan to buy drinks, get the $7 alcoholic can drinks instead. more 划算。 anw, Jetstar service is quite good since it is so cheap. The plane ride was smooth, no vomit inducing flying skills. The guy sitting beside me was an uncle but somehow it changed into a young guy that is about the same age as me. my complain is that he kept changing so much sleeping postures that i have no choice but to pull down the small tray table and hold my head to sleep n breathe properly. ( The air damn damn dry, future sock please rmb to bring wet hanky or sth to faciliate breathing tanks. ) Then i found a chance to pull my seat backwards n lean on the side of kc chair. Grrr. problem with sleeping on plane is that there is no place for u to rest ur head. haiz. n so i lean to the side but the guy elbow me twice at the ribcage DAMN ITCHY. i sprung up sitting upright wide awake. ok can. ppl trying to sleep yo. back to my hold head sleeping position.
then around 9 30 am plus we neh sleep n decide to go crazy n listen to songs n blah blah. then around half n hour before or sth, the captain pilot starts to speak again in his very obvious Thai accent. so....are we going thailand or taiwan?? Guy beside me n guy beside lianying decide to make fun or thai accent n kept repeating SAWADEEKRAP WELCoME to ThAi Pei~~~~ with super emphasis on thai accent. TAIPEI~~ Kc beside me also laughing...太好笑了。因为没食物,没电视看,我们除了笑也没事做了。
So finally arrived...to damn hot weather. n check out...We went to buy databplan prepaid cards but to my horror, only 20 age n above can get to buy. This is the time where i wish i have Jamie's or Scott's power where i can juz hypnotize n tell them we are indeed above 20 yo. While they were enquiring at the counter, i snooped around at the customer service counter and grabbed potential useful food guides and maps.. I almost took the free 方文山 cd. but no use to me. Throw it back. n we grab tickets from 国光客运 to take bus to Taipei main station. take taxi 太贵了according to Yuandashi。
While we head for the bus, we quench our immense thirst at the water dispenser with interesting paper bag/cup.
The ride was surprisingly quite short to me...to me only la. got one angmoh couple sit near us. #jussaying
Becos i like to 隐隐约约 throw in english words in my sentence of chinese to hint that i can speak english. Eh...to show off purely.
Throughout the bus trip, everyone damn hungry like shit. no la...nvr eat cannot shit. so i shared some bread yo. but also damn thirsty. my water in the luggage . my luggage in the storeroom compartment of the bus. -.-
so nth to do just watch the awkward tv about some 西施和范郎。 ????
And so we arrived at the Taipei Main Station briefly. I was only quick enuf to take one phtoophoto and we hopped on the taxi to advance to our XINCHEN Hotel. 星晨大饭店。 也没有很大。
We split into two taxis. Lianbra n Me. Kangbra n Yaobra. The thing is that we paid 100 NT while they paid 90 NT. UNFAIR!!! not. I guess the 10 NT discrepencies goes to the extra service of the uncle helping to unload our lugagge while their taxi uncle sleeve hand bladder.
I remarked that the street looks as ulu as wad i saw on google maps while on the taxi. YES. I STALKED the hotel on google maps prior the trip. I was worried that the hotel is terrible and spooky . But the moment i step inside ....i had a pleasant surprise. SO LOVeLY can!!!!!! I lurve the pond outside that transform the ambience 540 degrees from what i saw from Google maps. We had a quick check in and I marvelled at the pretty corridor and mirror and flower and realise that each room actually has different design and color!! Me n Kc tio the so called 色情 room, while yao n lian got the greenish room. I guess our room is slightly bigger though. According to Lian our room has a smelly smell. But instead i find their room to have a anticeptic smell which i cannot tank.
So I did my little ritual with the flag and we head for lunch after tad going towards gugong. :)
i have to say kangchyi should try to scream out her order into someone ears next time....to break the first meal spell casted on u.
Things to mention:
-Yueyao found the toothpick amazingly
- I singlehandedly flip open the issue box
- The soup daebak
-Logo looks like Fei ge.
Next. 吃饱了可以飞了。We walk to the Mrt station Dongmen? and we took to station Jiantan.
And then we take a taxi to Gugong. Oh. And we bought the youyouka which I took some time to comprehend how the machine works. Thx Lianying for verbally coaching.
I have to say the taxis are everywhere!! We rarely had to wait.
*Taiwan Taxi 小黄 介绍*
There are generally two types of taxi but they look the same and same color
1st - XXX车队
To differentiate u have to see the mini rectangle thing that all taxis have ...I am not sure the technical name for it . But in SG it is the one u get to see the Green Taxi or Red Taxi word to know whether it is occupied. In Taiwan, those that has a name that ends with 车队,it means it belongs to a Large taxi group/company.
2nd - XXX / 租车
Those without 车队 means they are private taxis. i assume it means self declare taxi driver. I heard they prefer to fetch long distances. If they know that u are going to short distances places, they most likely help to hail another cab that belongs to a 车队。 ,Omg so friendly.help u hail cab..but if you hop on their cab beforehand, they have to go wherever u ask them to. They cannot reject to fetch you,and if they do, u can complain them to authority. Wah.
Sidenote: The cabbies so well equipped until like transformers. Some cabs even have WIF that they AAAre ever welling to share with you their password. Also, it is hard for taxi to cheat you becos now ppl have data plan and GPS is there to tell you whether you are scammed. But We,young travellers, do not have data plan except for Lian Bra..hmmmm.
We spent lots of time camwhoring and zipaiing outside the Gugong and i was attracted to a restaurant about 500 m away and i was 点醒by Kc to stop googaing over food.
We entered the place but we had no idea where on earth to buy tickets but was confused by this queue to get audio guide. we 傻傻queue at this weird queue and found out that the queue was ALL ThE WAY AT THe OTHER SIDe. We also heard that the place 5pm closed. RUSH HOUR. THen we were forced to put our bags n water at the 寄放处 and dear kc chose not to keep her beloved camera. She still had to keep away her camera in the end becos the merciless entrance guard said so.
After the hassle we finally get in n i was bombarded at how big this place was. HOw to finish seeing this place by 5pm?? We sort of zap through exhibits that we might be interested in...but they couldnt find wad they are most interested at er which is Clothing i think.
Suaku me practically grab every leaflet i see and shunbian help KC take. Let me summarize wad i learnt
1.The ancient foremost top consideration when they design furnitures is to combine Practicality and Aesthetics. Most (Every) furniture I see are made of quality wood and they show super delicate designs. I am quite proud at one point when we saw furnitures for an ancient study room which were mainly 四四方方 and uncomfortable. 我竟然神奇般冒出一句:这样他们才能坐得正。Applause for myself. Which makes total sense. Muz be some Zen Master 上身。
2. Curio Box 多宝箱
Refers to Boxes with complex and interesting design that were meant to keep some valuables. It also usually have some damn unique designs or compartment that can double as a Magician box...or a wooden kind of transformers that can have many pattern of 摆设。it brings lots of entertainment to the ancient ppl and i guess it is sth they like to show off ...to see who has a more interesting box. Of course the more 神奇 it is, the more expensive. i guess it is a sort of status symbol that the rich could have. and for it to contain other expensive small treasures since it is a BOX.
3. 小白菜 Jade
According to my own recollection and if i am not wrong, this white cabbage is a very unique piece. The top grade jade should little impurity.. However whoever the designer is, he managed to turn this not so valuable piece of jade into something valuable. He manage to make use of the flaws of this jade and turn it into its strength. He carved/ shaped it into a white cabbage and it looked very very real becos of its impurities at the right places. I guess this jade taught many ppl a lesson becos it depicts how a great artist can turn something thought to be useless to its greatest strength. Applause please.
4. Rhino Horn
We went to this exhibition that showcase many exhibits carved/made out of Rhino horn. It is said that emperors like to use this Rhino Horn to make cups and bowls. Why? According to this tourguide behind us, it is becos Rhino Horn will change color when it is in contact with posion !!!!! So amazing but i havent find out if it is true. If so, it is a great material for paranoid emperors. Wonder if Silver or Rhino Horn more expensive....
After all the rush hour, we head to Taipei 101 , but we had a small encounter with scary cabbie drivers asking us where we going. we act blur for a while, comtemplating if they are thugs...then they help us hail another cab..which i go Heng ah....they so scary...
Taxi driver also nicely tell us which is the better Eslite Bookstore to go
and poof! we reach. We barely had chance to camwhore becos we see huge teams of 观光客。We made the best decision ever. We ran for our lifes. To the lift...and aiya..despite pressing the close button the door opened for a team...we shifted ourselves close to the lift door. once we reach lvl Five.. we chiong out of the door and ran towards the ticket counter in this Artas Classy Place
.
Yet the queue is still quite long. but the queue Behind us got even longer. It is quite worth the wait...I was very amazed at the lift ride where the whole lift blackout and when u look up , u see stars. ok..sounds like u fainted but the ceiling turns pretty!! then the 电梯先生 kindly tell us to swallow saliva to unblock ears if we have....but he said it so fast n in english that i almost cannot understand. Beside the lift doors there is a animated screen that shows how our lift is moving up the buiding.
And we arrived to evening view. Before we camwhore, (My photos fail so below mostly is KC camera grabbed de) the persoj handed us sterilized audio guide which looks like a 大哥大 transparent phone .
Also to mention i met my moe colleague. World So Small.

Then we werent paying attention to the audio guide anymore. Photos more impt.
I shall spam my own face.
We went up to the lvl 91 open roof and got facesmacked by the strong wind. I tried to selca but due to low light...photos become blacknwhite. Nice horror effect We look like dementors. Then it became too cold for us. Back to 89 lvl.
We got confused by the icecream shape thingy and walked pass Antartica simulation gallery mirror walkway where everyone simultaneously kept to the right for wad reason i dunno and we arrived at spam Coral exhibits. 直接fast forward. We end up queueing damn long at a quite fast queue for the lift. Spam tourist area. Fast forward to amazing lift ride down and Kc completed her facemask dream. I was very amazed at the 101 types of mask available and 101 areas of the body u can put mask on. I feel more guyish when i see so many cheem technical girl stuff.
And after rounds of cantfinddirectionjustwalksstraight and we end up at the same Face Mask Shop again.
..
The taxi stand was actually right behind this shop. Clever us. So we took taxi to 通华夜市。which is 800m Radii away from the Taipei 101.
I find the place quite small...since this is my first encounter with a Taiwan Night Market. I am feeling quite guilty actually, for being not so daring to try more chicken stuff because of my mum’s repeated reminder before I set off...: 最好不要吃鸡肉!
She might as well tell me to eat vegetarian for the whole of my trip eh? But I did not heed her advice and bought ABIT of chicken. The smokey chicken wing which I advise ppl with poor shaky no strength teeth like me should avoid. It is too hard for me to chew and i cannot sense any meat. It is like eating crispy chicken which I cannot appreciate. Im tat sort that likes to eat chicken chest meat. Even if it is dry but I can feel the meat. HA!
So we went to buy drinks and i think i bought sth related to plum drink...which i sort of regretted because I should try their signature tea drink or sth. But my plum drink is still nice and helped to sooth my throat and quench my thirst
.
I am quite amused by Yao’s expression at the bottom right hand corner...she tio shock after eating nice potato balls i guess.
Photo above is spam potato and our long time fave: 羊肉串!The malt sweet potato was a great disappointment because I tot it was smoking hot. But it turned out cold :( I dun like cold sweet potato. Sweet potato rule is that it must be hot if not not nice le :(
Which is why the fried potato balls was DAMN Nice!!! And super cute! Each ball turns out so Q and 弹牙!!
And then it started rain...which the uncle proceed to bring out his Huge Umbrella very 淡定ly.
So we flag for a taxi and went back to our hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How is this 色情??
I Finally Finish this post OMG. HAPPY MAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX~
I guess the coming posts will be less naggy than this one...I will promise you~~ not.
BYE!
*ends with my face and airport fashion*

Firstly, I would like to congratulate you upon your completion of the Day 1 post.
ReplyDeleteI am amazed by your abilities to capture the in between details that me and lianying had left out during the trip and is grateful that you had included it in your blog posts, making the 3 blog posts complimentary to each other instead of being triplicates.
Thank you for your time, xkl and jiayou x9!
